I was moving across town and did most of it myself, but I had a long couch in my third floor apartment that I didn't want to get trashed, so I figured I'd hire a service. Googled local moving companies, saw Grunts Move Junk had good reviews, and called to inquire. They quoted $160.00 for a single couch to be moved across town (~3 miles). Seemed pricey but I figured it was worth it if I could preserve my $1000.00, one year old couch.
Once we got the thing out to their truck, they just threw it on a greasy, dusty blanket for the trip across town.
We used grunts this morning to move some things from our apartment. When Mitchell arrive promptly at 9 he came right in friendly and courteous. We was able to haul away everything we needed. And even when it came to our motorized wheelchair he was able to call a coworker over and within two minutes they arrived and the 3 of them got it into the truck. He was able to work with us grumpy girls who had been up all night and do it with a smile. Thank you Mitchell. We highly recommend them. South Burlington
Hiring Grunts move junk for our move was such a great decision. They were absolutely amazing, very professional and moved all of our heavy belongings seamlessly. We would recommend them to anyone! We will consider their work in the future for other moves or home projects. Thank you!
Yeah, everything that you said happened in your response didn't actually happen. I know because I was there and had to step in and do most of the work myself since one of your guys was not capable. They did not inform me it wasn't going to fit into the elevator and they did not inform me that it wasn't going to fit into the stairs.
Ask yourself how the couch got up there in the first place (without damage, by the way) if it couldn't fit into the elevator or up the stairs. The movers that delivered the couch didn't teleport it.
I never write reviews, but I was so exceptionally annoyed after my experience with their service that I feel like I have to as a caution.
The couch got trashed to the point that I didn't even want it anymore and at one point one of the movers had the gall to say "Well, we'll just take the couch and you won't have to pay us the fee if you don't want it." The $1000.00 dollar couch that they trashed they'll take off my hands for free. Seriously?
Two men spend eight hours working non-stop clearing heavy brush clearing over six feet wide of space behind three houses. I never seen two people work harder for eight hours in my life. They were pleasant and professional. This is our second experience with Grunts Move Junk. I recommend them to anyone looking for grunt work! Sure saved our backs and did a job we could never of done ourselves. I will not hesitate to use them again!
Two movers show up on time and they were nice enough guys, but in the process of moving the couch got completely trashed. Torn upholstery on the front where they slid it along stair rails, cushions and upholstery set down and mashed into the dirty floor/ground while pivoting around corners, etc. I also wound up doing the same amount of work as they.
Bottom line, if you have nice stuff you don't want trashed, do not use this service. If you have trash that needs hauling or stuff that can get banged up, then they're probably fine.
