After a phonecall with the vendor and explaining that I was unhappy with the service provided, there were 0 attempts at reporations.
My neighbor and I share a spring fed water source. When his pipes froze and burst our water source bypassed our home. Our jet motor on our pressure tank ran dry for 8-10 hours eventually burning it out. After calling many plumbing companies Ward returned our call. With confirmed Air B and B guests driving to our home Ward came on Saturday, diagnosed the issue and promptly replaced our pump. I was given a price before he started and it was done in a few hours. He explained everything he did and the price was what was quoted before he started. I would recommend Manley Plumbing and Heating.
2) A report of no signage on the same vent pipe. When I got home the sign was on top of my boiler where the technician was performing work earlier that day.
1)Termination of vent too close to window - The referenced issue was found in our owners manual per the technician, after a further review of this I found that this is of windows that open and are within 36 inches. The window in question is a basement window that is 30" away and diagonally below the vent pipe and is never opened.
4) No firematic was present. This being true, I was concerned I needed one So...
I'm doing some work in my basement, and I've had a few plumbers stop by to give me a quote. He charges a $69.99 fee to stop by and provide an estimate. He also wouldn't tell me over the phone what his hourly labor rate was. Instead, he stated that he felt customers preferred to get a quote per job. I should have listened to my gut and not had him stop by, but I didn't. I had already received a quote from another reputable plumber in town, and that quote was less than $2,000. Ward quoted me about $4,400 for the same job. And to think I had to pay him to provide me with the quote. This is the only plumber that's charged to provide a quote. My recommendation would be to call around, and if they charge a fee to provide you with a quote AND they won't tell you their hourly rate, there's probably a reason. Go elsewhere...I found another plumber that stopped by my house, said the job was simple and easy, charged me $1,000 for materials and labor, AND they've done a great job.
I contacted vermont gas with these issues that were severe enough"red tag" my boiler. To my surprise not only was this outrageous to me, but they were not even valid claims. Vermont gas stated the direct vent needed to be 12" not 36", they also stated that you do not need a firematic with natural gas, but with oil you do.
3) No low water cutoff switch was also reported. It was very obvious this technician was grasping at straws here, as I looked at my boiler and there was a blue box that explicitly stated "Low Water Cutoff Switch".
I had Manley come out to CLEAN my boiler and after their work they offered their services in the amount of a couple thousand dollars to fix 4 issues. These 4 issues included:
I would give 0 stars if I could
They give estimates including labor before they start to work which is important to me. They are pleasant to work with and I paid for them to service my heating and plumbing annually because i want it done right. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to take care of their house or property.
